Production services built around the project, not a building.

The company began with a dedicated production stage in 2022. Today, KFS is focused on the wider system around the work: crew, equipment, vendors, locations, logistics, communication, delivery and people who solve problems quickly.

We approach every project with a service-producer mindset built on clarity, accountability and execution. From large-scale narrative productions to focused creative initiatives, our priority is maintaining structured processes that respect creative leadership while keeping timelines and budgets aligned.

2022

The physical production stage opened.

Narrative, commercial, documentary, interview, rental and production-support work followed, giving KFS practical experience with both controlled studio work and the realities of small-to-mid-size production in the Okanagan.

2024

KFS transitioned away from the facility.

The company shifted toward the wider production system: crew, equipment, locations, logistics, vendors, power, transport, communication and delivery across Kelowna and Interior British Columbia.

Now

Building the relationships behind the region's next stage.

KFS is focused on serious service production, regional production support, gear access and practical relationships that make the Okanagan easier to choose for visiting and locally developed work.

Senior attention stays close to the work.

His approach is practical, story-first and execution-driven, with a focus on keeping schedules tight, budgets disciplined and visuals uncompromising.

James is also actively involved in developing and packaging new scripted projects, positioning productions for Canadian and international financing while advocating for British Columbia and the Okanagan as a competitive production centre.

Portrait of KFS co-producer Marie Ashwood

Marie Ashwood

Marie Ashwood is an actress, writer, and co-producer working across film, television, and digital media. In addition to her on-screen work, she is deeply involved in development, creative strategy, and producing, with a strong focus on story, performance, and audience positioning.

Marie has collaborated closely with James Alton and Kelowna Film Studios on multiple projects, including commercial campaigns, the narrative short The Letter, and several upcoming feature and scripted projects in active development.

As a co-producer, she plays a hands-on role in shaping creative direction, refining scripts, and aligning projects with financing, talent and market strategy.
