Kelowna Film Studios: What We Built and What Comes Next

Kelowna Film Studios began with a physical stage, but the lesson was bigger than a building.

Kelowna Film Studios began with a physical production space in 2022. That first stage gave local shoots a controlled room for interviews, commercial work, narrative scenes, rentals and practical production support.

It also made the limits clear. A region does not become production-ready because one room exists. Productions need people, power, parking, equipment, locations, permits, vendors, communication, delivery discipline and enough repeat work to keep the system alive.

The original stage closed in 2024. Since then, KFS has shifted toward production services, service production, local knowledge, field production, crew/vendor coordination, gear access and regional logistics across Kelowna and Interior BC.

No new facility is being announced here. The work now is relationship-based and project-based: helping productions understand what the Okanagan can support, where the gaps are, and what infrastructure would have to exist before larger shows could choose the region with confidence.
