Submitted Material Policy
Scripts, pitches and unsolicited ideas.
Kelowna Film Studios receives inquiries from writers, producers, directors, clients and collaborators. To protect everyone involved, please do not send scripts, treatments, concepts, pitches, decks, footage, music, photographs or other creative material unless we have specifically asked for it in writing.
Unsolicited material.
Unsolicited material may be deleted, returned unread, or not reviewed. Sending material to Kelowna Film Studios does not create a confidential relationship, review obligation, payment obligation, credit obligation, development relationship, production commitment or partnership.
Independent development.
Kelowna Film Studios works on, receives and is pitched film, television, commercial and branded concepts from many sources. Some ideas, genres, themes, characters, settings, formats or production approaches may be similar to material sent by someone else. We cannot accept restrictions or obligations around unsolicited material without a written agreement signed by Kelowna Film Studios.
Approved submissions.
If we request material, send only what was requested through the channel we provide. Any confidentiality, option, shopping, development, production, credit or compensation terms must be agreed to in writing before those terms apply.
Your rights.
You keep the rights you already own in your original material. This policy does not transfer ownership to Kelowna Film Studios. It also means Kelowna Film Studios does not accept duties, restrictions or implied promises simply because material was sent to us.
Contact.
For production inquiries, use the contact channels on this website and describe the project without attaching confidential creative material unless we request it.
