What the project needed.
Create an annual film for Sockeye that honours the graduating dancers' skill and preserves each year's choreography beyond the stage.
What had to work.
The films had to preserve choreography, formation and ensemble precision while moving between close hand details, full-group formations and new lighting and location ideas each year.
How KFS handled it.
The 2023 film opens on hands and shadows before revealing the full ensemble. The 2024 and 2025 films add graphic colour, haze and more camera movement while keeping the choreography clear.
What came out of it.
The Sockeye films became an annual screen series for the ensemble's graduating years, with lighting, camera, music and editing shaped around the choreography.
