The Battle of Ortona concept began as a short development pitch for a Canadian WWII mini-series.
The stronger version is simpler and more honest. A project like this would need serious research, military history care, the right producing partners, a realistic budget, strong Canadian access and a clear reason to revisit the story on screen.
The central production question remains useful: what would it take to make something this ambitious responsibly, and what infrastructure would have to be in place before it was ready?
