Project Awards and Festival Recognition Across Recent KFS Work
Recent KFS-connected projects have picked up festival selections, local awards, category wins and BC Leo Award nominations, with each recognition kept beside the project that earned it.
The Keepers has the strongest awards record.
The Keepers connects most directly to the KFS story because the short was built inside the former Kelowna Film Studios stage with producing, studio, crew, production-support and VFX context attached. Its record includes 2026 BC Leo Award nominations for Best Youth Performance and Best Visual Effects in a Short Drama, Best Visual Effects and Best Costume at the 2026 Okanagan Screen Awards, Best Children's Film at Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival, and an Award of Excellence from Canada Shorts.
That mix matters because it is not only a trophy list. It shows a local genre short moving from a controlled KFS production environment into public screenings, online release, festival recognition and craft-category attention.
Short-film support has also carried recognition.
Midlife Shuffle placed second at the 2026 Snakebite 5-Day Film Challenge and earned recognition including Best Story, Best Editing, Best Acting, Best Acting Ensemble and Best Use of Secret Prop. KFS usage stays attached to James Alton's producer credit and the equipment, camera, lighting, audio and grip support around the compressed schedule.
The Knitting Diaries earned Okanagan Screen Awards recognition including 2nd Place, People's Choice and Best Acting Ensemble. On KFS, that belongs beside the support role: 1st AC, lighting help, grip-truck logistics and the F-150 Lightning mobile set-power workaround.
Music and archive projects stay project-specific.
Colorado earned Best Song and 3rd Place for Best Music Video at the 2026 Okanagan Screen Awards, with KFS shown as the production company and James Alton's directing, cinematography, edit and colour work kept explicit.
Other recognized projects, including Sockeye, Three Hearts and Mabel, belong only where the role is clear. The awards page keeps those records attached to project context so recognition does not drift into generic company hype.
